Particularly suited to short or medium term mining subsidence monitoring applications where high sensitivity ground movement logging is required. Ideal for railway embankments, tunnel walls, power transmission towers or highway bridges and overpasses.
The sensors can be located up to 200 meters from the site controller and require no additional power or telemetry devices. Deployment is fast and easily moved to additional locations as mining progresses.
Fibre Optic Configuration
Fiber optic connection is for environments that may have restrictions on use of radio such as underground mines. The fibre optic cabling has a range up to 10 Kms for each sensor from the site controller. The cable can be armored for deployment in harsh environments where the cable may be at risk of physical damage from water, animal interference, vehicle movements or temperature extremes.
Radio Telemetry Configuration
The use of encrypted uhf radio and bridging technology provides unexpected ground movement warning at remote sites up to 25Kms from the site controller. In practice this can be greatly extended by the automatic bridging capability built into EarthSub. With an optional satellite interface, a remote sensor could be installed in the middle of a desert, or would equally provide warming of unexpected ground movement in a hostile environment such as Antarctica.
EarthSub is also available with a uhf radio option that is immune to RF interference and makes it suitable for use around power transmission towers.
